GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING SONG
- Submit your song online at: https://aosongwriters.com/submit-song/
- Choose a category: Worship Song (single), Worship/Christian/Gospel Music Video, Christmas Song (about Jesus), Worship Musical Composition, Worship/Christian/Gospel Album.
- Choose any method of recording, whether a professional recording, or a simple home recording done on your phone or other device, all will be acceptable. Songs will be judged on quality of songwriting rather than performance.
- Send your song in any format you like, such as mp3, or wav. We will also accept a link to your wbsite, SoundCloud, YouTube, or even a CD in the mail. If you have problems sending your music, just let us know and we can work something out.
- Include a lyric sheet for each song submitted.
- Members from 2019 through 2022 are invited to participate
- You do not need to be present to receive an award, since we are live-streaming our event this year. We are offering this opportunity to all of our members from the past two years who could not participate in Awards Night because of the pandemic.
- Deadline for all entries is December 1, so we have time to get these to the judges. Send your worship song, album,worship composition or worship video and lyric sheet to the following email address: ao@ilj.com
TIPS
- Make the intro short (one or two bars), if your song has not been recorded already. Our judges always ask for either a short intro, or no intro.
- Display a copyright notice on bottom of the lyric sheet. This gives us permission to share with the judges. If you are not sure how to word it, this is acceptable: ©️2022 Your Name. Name of Your Song
- You may submit a song in more than one category . Please submit songs separately at: https://aosongwriters.com/submit-song/
- Songs will be judged on quality of songwriting rather than performance. This “levels the playing field”. Your song will be sent to a panel of industry professionals who will evaluate and judge each entry for their musical and lyric content (not by the quality of the recording). As an added bonus, evaluations from the judges will be sent privately to your email after Awards Night. Videos will be judged on both visual and musical content.
